Hey All!

I recently hired a web developer to configure a website for a client. This is solely based on OS Commerce Shopping Cart.

The client sells clothing product, and would like to be able to sort the products within each category. The way the site is configured now, it automatically sorts uploaded products alphabetically - which gives us NO control of where we want to place each item. ( we have dozens of items called "tops" for instance)

My question is - how do we go about sorting the product either by recent loaded or ideally to be able to move it around to wherever we want.

The web developer who designed it is giving us a hard time although we paid quite a bit of money to get this done, hence I am trying to learn myself.

Thank you so much in advance for all your help!

Alex.

OScommerce is FREE. So is Zen Cart. There are plenty of tutorials that tell you how to configure the cart. The web developer you have probably left the product configuration in default sort order. I normally use Zen Cart, but I think there is a contribution (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2109) (modification) that allows you to customize your product sort order.

I just spent a lot of time lately explaining Zen Cart to a client over the phone. It is great when someone follows step-by-step and doesn't accidentally click the wrong thing. When you can't see what they are doing, you just don't know until you refresh and see the damage. Then I get to fix it. Some people should follow instructions and not talk over me while I explain things. I thought my son was bad!

Wouldn't it be easier to use something like LogMeIn to take over the client's machine so that accidents don't happen?

Yeah, I should be doing EVERYONE's job at the same time. I need to clone myself. And I was planning to install another Zen Cart for another client.

My son forgot to bring home his backpack yesterday. I should get him a cell phone to call him before he leaves school. I could remind him to bring his coat, backpack, library books, homework, assignment book and anything else I have to sign or he has to complete. He ALWAYS forgets something! Too bad I can't log into his head. He is driving me crazy. :freak:

Just tie a string around his finger.
