View Full Version : Removing updates from the computer
Like the critical updates that you get from Microsoft. I have microsoft .net framework 1.1 and the 1.1 hotfix. I also have 2.0. Can I safely remove the 1.1 ones or is that not a good idea?

probably not a good idea
Okay and have they fixed the service pack 3 for windows or don't download it if at all possible?
the different major versions of .net can coexist peacefully together. Any program written in .net 1.x needs that version. Same with 2.x and 3.x. This PC has 1.1, 1.1 hoftix, 2.0sp1, 3.0sp1 and 3.5 all installed with no issues (I do .net development).
As for sp3, i'd steer clear unless you have a specific need to install it.
Alright I'll leave those programs there. I'm not going to download it on purpose. Unless the automatic updates download it which hopefully won't.
