Help - I can't see any files in my htdocs, but they are there!

Okay, I have been designing websites for years, and this is the first time I've had this problem, so hopefully someone can help out!

I use WS_FTP to upload and download.
I can sign into my account no problem.
I see htdocs folder, I see stats folder

BUT when I open htdocs, THE FILES ARE MISSING! I should say 'invisible' because under my control panel, all the files are there and the website is working fine.

I tried the same thing through Frontpage, can't see anything there either...

Anyone help?

Have you tried a fresh install of an alternative FTP program such as Filezilla? Your problem sounds, to me, like a setting in the program has altered.

When in the filemanager can you see the 'permissions' for the files?
Can you change them?

Either way, a ticket to support explaining the problem is a 'good idea' as no-one else has made any suggestions.

You ARE in the right directory aren't you? It wasn't here, but on another host I found I had 2 folders named the same thing. It was in a subdirectory and named the same as the root.

I also seem to remember that someone else had a similar problem that turned out to be a permissions issue that support fixed for them.

Sounds like a permissions problem that needs to be corrected by PowWeb support. That happened to one of my clients at another web host.

I've seen people do this when they install a CMS or multiple websites on one account. Or if they upload an entire backup (of files in a folder) to the web host. I still suspect a permissions problem in this case, but you bring up a good point.
