Hello, I am moving from a newbee to an intermediate newbee. lol. Sometime ago, I had a friend make these animated gifs, I think, and wanted to know which software program from adobe do I need to buy to make these animated gifs. I am going to try and do it myself for my second web site that I am signing up with powweb. Thanks. Happy new year:D

Some very much cheaper (i.e. free) alternatives to Adobe:
Beneton Movie GIF: http://www.software.benetonfilms.com/
Microsoft GIF Animator: http://downloads.zdnet.com/abstract.aspx?kw=Microsoft+Gif+Animator&docid=421195
Photobie: http://www.photobie.com
Probably more out there. Many of these assume that you already have the individual frames created and want to put them in an animation. Others will create the animated frames by interpolating between a beginning frame and an ending frame. So if you are, like me, "artisticly challenged" ;) you may still need someone to create the frames for you.
Good luck,
Kevin
Hi allenrichard~
Adobe PhotoShop comes with ImageReady imbedded. Located at the very bottom of the tool bar. Very easy to use.
Another less bulky way to get the same effect is to use a slide show. http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/index.html , just cut and paste the code.
Also, you have a typo- keep an open mind.

As far as Adobe -- PhotoShop (ImageReady), Fireworks or Flash is the go. Add to the free list Gimp and Irfanview. No matter the app if you don't have the source file eg PSD the app often only imports still frames. You then need to edit and often recreate the timeline or play speed of the animation.
Keep in mind too that animated GIFs can get annoying after a while. I looked at your page quick and all of the movement at the top of the screen is quite distracting. Once you get the software I would slow down the animation a bit and not use so many on one screen at a time.
