I am trying to install moodle 1.9 but there is a problem communicating to MySQL. For what I have read MySQL can run on different modes, if it is running in strict mode that would be my problem. Can anyone tell me in what mode MySQL is running in Powweb, is there anyway to change it? And just in case to double check for the hundreth time is this one of the addresses we are using now for MySQL servers:

USEERNAME.powwebmysql.com

I read that I could change the mode running a command on phpMyAdmin to set the right mode. Can this be done? I can't seem to find where to do it. Any help is much appreciated, and Happy New Year to all!

Thanks

We are supposed to use username.powwebmysql.com but support have been changing it when there have been problems.

Thanks for the information and  the edit :D , sorry.
Anything on the MySQL issue?
At least we can discard the address and a typo. The MySQL mode is becoming #1 suspect. Never had a problem before with DB creation, in the last couple of days have installed at least 4 apps manually that use MySQL and they all work properly.

At last I was able to install Moodle 1.9 and so far it seems to run flawlessly, it was not a MySQL issue. It seems that the moodle installer did not properly recognize that the domain installation did not reside in the main directory.
If anybody is experiencing the same issue, just go to your main htdocs directory and move the moodledata folder to the directory where you originally chose to install the moodle application. So far those seem to be the only misplaced files during installation.

Cheers!
