I stared at this post for 5 minutes and thought about the "badger-badger" song. Now I'm going to lock myself in a closet with a bottle of Jack and a revolver and see what happens.

Seriously... WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot, Over?

How to install XP (assuming you have a licensed copy and not a "new" bootleg)

Wow, seriously, punctuation is your friend.

The number of problems you listed in your post is ridiculous. When it comes to troubleshooting technical issues, it's good to focus on your show-stoppers one at a time and resolve them. Otherwise you'll get bogged down in the details.

Drivers.cab failing to copy is typically an issue with the installation media.
Not matching RAM speeds doesn't really matter... it'll just slow down that memory controller to match the slowest stick of RAM.
Windows XP's minimum RAM requirement is like 64MB. Are you serious your pc doesn't have 64MB of RAM? Or are you confused between RAM and hard drive space?

I suggest you get another copy of a full WinXP install and try again. Or if you know anyone that has computer-building knowledge, offer to pay them a couple bucks to install XP on your box for you.

This I believe will be a one trick pony.

I bet in a week if you google the text in the original post, you'll find it on two dozen different forums.

I agree, so the thread is now closed as there's been no response from the OP.
