ZenCart bad connection to database

I just signed up for a new account for new store using self installed zencart. The install is working fine. But sometime my shop can't connect to database for over 30 minutes. I installed zencart 3 days ago so far 50% of the time my database isn't working when I view my site... so that means I can't open my store any time soon.

It get the zencart message "Sorry!
There seems to be a problem connecting to our database. Please give us a few minutes to remedy the problem. Thank you."

Are you using username.powwebmysql.com? I know it's only like 4 days old but a Repair and Optimize on the database can't hurt.. Submit a support ticket too.

Are you storing your sessions in the database or in a cache folder? While storing in the database may be more secure, it causes a lot of overhead and extra work for the database. I have personally experienced this with Zen Cart. Zen Cart has sessions stored in the database by default. Using the cache folder reduced those problems you mentioned.
