Hey guys, i know this has been a big issue for other people also, but:
I recently made an SWF file in FLash cs3. Everything is fine, except i have a video in my SWF file. It plays fine in test mode, but when i upload it to a host to the web. everything goes fine, except the video dosent play!!
Ive been searching for hours and hours and no luck, i dont know whats wrong?
Its not for a website, so i cant really upload different files, only 1 swf, (its a banner)
It has nothing to do with any MIME settings, IM so confused,
Help me please! thankyou!

I don't know what you did in your SWF file, so I don't know if there is php or action script that has local URLs or something that won't work anywhere but locally.
What browser are you using to view the file? Is there a problem in every browser or just some? Is the file embedded in a web page using the correct code? If the code is incorrect, the file may not play.
Does the beginning of the video show up? OR is it blank.
if the video is embedded--
It sounds like you have a stop(); in the swf stopping the video from playing
if the video is not embedded and is loaded externally then you need to upload the video.
A link to the swf would make it easier to figure it out, or a download for the fla so I can take a look at the code, it does not sound like a big problem. Is this being done in AS2 or AS3?
If you create a download of the fla Ill take a look at it, I'm pretty sure its a easy fix.

Oh... you should have stated that. ~smack~ Your best bet is to contact myspace support, they are usually pretty good. I have SWF running on myspace no problem so not sure what you're doing. You cannot.. well, it's illegal to tamper with their own banners, you know that right?

You may be able to use the code to play embedded Flash files for your MySpace page and still host the file on your PowWeb account. You have me curious. Maybe I will try that. Normally we can embed video code which plays flv files. You can convert your Flash file to flv format and try it. Hmmm....

I converted the file to flv and used player.swf to play the video in a web page successfully. See the email for the URL to see it on my web server.
I didn't try it on MySpace since it advertises another website. It won't interfere with MySpace banners. I agree with Croc that it would have helped to know it was going to appear on MySpace. Things don't always work the same way there.

You may be able to use the code to play embedded Flash files for your MySpace page and still host the file on your PowWeb account. You can embed flv or swf at myspace. However you can only host the flv or swf file on your Powweb account if it relates directly to your website here and or it's operation.
