Aye, sup homies, well i got a problem, this time iam gonna come out clean and good. roflmao :) ok
the script iam using is

http://www.pscode.com/xq/ASP/txtCodeId.483/lngWId.8/qx/vb/scripts/ShowCode.htm

that, and i filled in the "req" file.

And i sticked it in my "http://www.evilgokusedge.com/tag/"

and i chmoded the dir "755" and the files "755" and i tried opening up "http://www.evilgokusedge.com/tag/index.html" it comes up but iam unable to tag, i think ists becuase of this...

Before the tag board will function, we have to do a few things.

1. Make sure you have PHP and MySQL on your server, if not, it won't work.

2. Unpack the .ZIP file to a directory on your server (/tagboard will be fine).

3. You will need to create your database for the script to work off of:

create table tagboard(id int(10) not null auto_increment,nick varchar(16) not null,url varchar(128) not null,message varchar(128) not null,ip varchar(15) not null, primary key(id));

4. Edit required.php to reflect your database name, login and password, along with the other customizations.

5. Enjoy your new tag board!

I dont understand the bold part...maybe thats the problem, please help, this is a "beginers" script and i feel so stupid , and once again, iam awesome at scripts cept some times i cant get them running (thanks simco, i got atleast 6 scripts running by myself which are labeled "expert only") thanks again simco, and once again please help me out on this junk homies, thanks again and peace out dawgsz

The bold part must be sent to MySQL through some interface such as phpMyAdmin. THe support pages recommend another interface... i don't remember...

(Make sure you password protect any copy of phpMyAdmin)

BTW, no script using MySQL would *really* be a beginners script.... so don't feel stupid.... just stick with it, read, read, read & eventually you'll get it working. You might try serching for a tutorial on MySQL online....

Peace,

you can just download a program.. instead of installing phpMyAdmin... ive heard even thats not easy if you dont know what youre doing.
Look in the powweb FAQ, under the MySql link, then look for the question "How do I administer my database?" it will have a link to a list of MySql clients for windows. The one Im using is actually for windows NT but it worked fine on 98 and is working fine now on XP.. its called netadmin2.zip in the list
you just unzip it, run the exe, fill in your server info, double click on your database once its connected copy and paste all the bold text you posted into a window that says SQL QUERY and click the run button. Itll create those tables.

OR
Ask someone to do it for you.

Hey i got it created it but....505 error wtf....please help ^_^

Error 505 is basically a reminder from the server that your scripts are not authorized to run! Go back to the directory that you installed the tagboard ( I am assuming that you probably named the directory tagboard). From there you will need to CHMOD the files within the directory to 755 or read-write-executable from your FTP software.

This should fix the problem.

Hope this helps you out and if not then holler again.

This is a server side error. Someone at the technical support for PowWeb should be notified so they can fix it. Most likely, I am guessing it is due to that your account is not residing on a server that has cgi support for PHP installed yet. I have noticed that there are several complaints about this on the board.

HTH,

Mike

[edited by admins: There was nor is there any problem on Powwebs end]
