nero vision lock up

I have nero 7 ultra edition with nero vision 4.9.7.6 operating on XP home sp3. My computer has an A64 processor with 2 gigs of ddr 400 ram. My problem is while trying to trans code an avi movie into dvd format to burn it to a disc it locks up my computer before it finishes even trans coding the file. tried exiting out of many things in the task bar but still has made no difference. I am thinking it is a problem with sp3 but not sure. what do you all think?

I just bought the Nero 7 Premium download, everything works OK except Nero Vision. (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=65981)

I will try to dep list it and see if that helps I might have to go to nero tech support but I have been told they are as much help as a hole in the head. It seems most people in that forum had trouble launching not running but I will see. any more Ideas let me know thanks nbrunk:o

Nero 7 has some problems converting . avi to DVD format, depending on which type of files you are using. (http://club.cdfreaks.com/f48/does-nero-convert-avi-dvd-format-205809/) "But many suggest using ConvertX to convert the files prior to placing in NeroVision 4 to avoid this situation."
