A good while back MySQL server performance was proving a major headache (for myself and some other users).
The problem was addressed and now the performance and reliability is (IMHO) good. Of course at times there are slow downs or problems - which is to be expected on a shared hosting platform - but these seem to be few and far between and definately the exception!
So I thought I would just say thanks for, (a) addressing the problem, and (b) making sure the fix stuck (ie: performance didn't slip back down again)!

I will second that.
It appears that they are monitoring things better and working on communicating things here on the forum better.
agreed, down time is minimal and lag has noticeably decreased. Thanks PowWeb!

Yep... It's a world away from what it was like a couple of years ago. A little slow at times, but generally it's fast and most importantly reliable.
Continued thanks for keeping it sorted :)

Thank you guys :)
Im actually a bit curious on this one. A few months ago we moved 4 of our busiest Mysql servers over to new hardware. These servers have been performing really well.
The part Im curious about is if your accounts are ones that happened to be moved over new hardware and the account is faster because of that. Or is your account still hosted on one of the older Mysql servers but its performing much better because of the monitoring that we carry out now.
If you wouldn't mind posting your domain name in the thread. That would be all I need to find out the answer to my question.

I've not noticed any speed up... It's about the same performance as normal. Periodically a litle slow, but generally fast enough to be perfectly usable/comfortable.
Neil, did you answer the question and I just missed it?

This question.
Doesn't the bit where a signature lives not give the answer - MYSQL7 ? :D

This question.
No... But maybe my PM to him may have?
Have I caused enough confusion at this point?

I'm having 'Welcome Back Kotter' flashbacks. "I'm so confused.." :)

Yea I am glad for you all, good times, I have moved all away, long time now.....
So is the problem finally fixed?
Slow mysql on wordpress for example?
If you're no longer here, what difference would it make as to the cause of the problem?

It's usable--speed is typical of a shared environment.
Have I caused enough confusion at this point? Not quite yet? :D
Keep up the 'good' work :p
Don't you have a caravan (trailer) that you have to be in somewhere that doesn't have internet access? :)
Not anymore - internet access is now available via a 'dongle' that plugs into the laptop - Britain (and me) is catching up. The dongle provides 'broadband' by cellphone.
