Is WordPress always so slow?

Just added a blog to my PowWeb site ... used the auto installer.

It installed fairly easily, but any time I go to load the blog, it loads fairly slowly. (Has improved a bit, recently, but still.)

Is WordPress always slow, or is something probably slightly wrong with the install?

No that's not where it is. It's here: http://www.gordonkorman.com/gkblog came up quick for me considering how you have it setup. Go into the Wordpress dashbord and turn caching on and check if you have Zend Optimiser enabled in your OPS php.ini
