I'm pretty sure today is the 31st, and yet for some reason my webstats haven't been updated since the 27th.
See for yourself:

I was wondering if maybe I should try turning off webstats and then turning them back on tomorrow? If I do this will I lose the current stats that are there?
Any help on this would be great...
you will only loose the old stats if you delete the logs...turn webstats on & off...leaving some hours between them...it should work!

Get used to not having stats.
They won't answer your email about them.
They will tell you "they know they are a problem, they are working on replacing the program." At least that is what they have been telling me for three months.

lol no not at all.
My anger is only toward those who sell something then do not provide what they sell, then they banned me for asking about it...I guess that's why anyway, no one has told me anything yet.

Honestly, the Webstat and customer service problem have been my only complaints in 7 months with Powweb.
I like what they offer and the server speed.

Yeah, I love the price and how most extra options aren't charged. I guess we can't complain when we love everything else...
So I see your webstats STILL isn't working! Mine didn't update last night, so I guess that's that! Oh well, it was fun while they were working. Several other posts with the same problem and no answer or solution....

Yeah, my webstats haven't updated since 8/29. I also use them with another host and it works great. I don't know what the problem is here.
My webstats are also not working. It hasn't been updated since the 24th and has only worked for 17 days in August. This really sucks powweb.
have you tried to switch them off (from the ops) and then on again after 24 hours?

This is the second time this is happening within about 3 months. The first time I tried turning it on and off, leaving it for a couple hours as well as over 24 hours about 4 times in all with absolutely no results. Even the moderators said it would work but it didn't.
I don't think it would work this time either.
I just turned them back on... ::crosses fingers:: Will it take 24 hours to know if it's working or not?
even less...coz they update at midnight...

I've this several times since hosting with Powweb but it doesn't seem to help. I give up on webstats.
webstats are not a product of powweb...therefore instead of using webstats, you might want to use another script...there are hundreds free on the net!!
Now that we don't have webstats anymore, could someone post a link or links to any kind of program that displays this valuable info using our "access_log" file. It would be nice if it was windows based! Thanks in advance....

OK thanks, I'll take a look. I did find "Faststats Analyzer" 2.8 and 3.0 and the demo's work great, but I'm not gonna pay $100 for it which was about the cost of my whole web site!

Well I give up. I shut them off for 24 hours, turned them back on, waited another 24 hours until midnight had passed and... no web stats. I'm mad...
If your WebStats dont run, try and remove the two lines in your webalizer.conf referring to DNS.
The reason webalizer stops running is due to your visitors IP's are either not resolvable or take so long to resolve, webalizer times out.

Re: heatherlynn.net, your stats are ok now, but you may be missing stats from before today now.
Also, your .htacess file was keeping anyone from viewing your webstats directory. I moved it to HTACCES.ORIG. Once you fix it, you can rename it back to .htaccess and it will work again.
Would you happen to know what part of it was keeping people from viewing the webstats directory? I copied all the codes directly from the FAQ I thought... If not then that's okay, I'll spend some time analyzing it.

Hmmm, that was weird. It was one of the error page settings I had in my htaccess file... Would that have messed up the webstats on it's own?
Tried on and off, tried removing DNS lines. No webstats since 9/1!
My .htaccess only has 4 simple lines in it and is still as it was several weeks ago when webstats was working.
Another thread suggested that if webstats encounters a access_log update while trying to analyze data, it quits. Is this true?
I set webstats to check "access_log.temp". Tonight, I'll copy "access_log" to "access_log.temp" before midnight PST.

While your company did not write this software, you guys use "Webstats" as one of the features in the advertising and it's mentioned as a feature on the powweb main page.
If it's no good, get rid of it or make it work!
