mpeg4 to windows movie maker

it appears that when I transfer a video from flip video to desktop, it saves in mpeg4 format. if i want to edit and create titles in windows movie maker, it wont recognize the mpeg4 format. is there a way i can accomplish editing mpeg4 in windows movie maker?
