View Full Version : Mailbox full error (except it's not full.)

I have email forwarding setup. All messages are set to forward to my external gmail account. The forwarding has worked fine on it's own, and now suddenly, all emails to that address get bounced back with a 'mailbox full' message. Except the mailbox isn't full, it isn't even a mailbox, it's a mail forward. And the destination to which is gets forwarded to is also not full (not even close). Anyone else having the same issue? I tried deleting and re-adding my mail accounts in OPS and now I can't even get a message to forward or to bounce.

Do you have old mail accounts? If you were with PowWeb before the great migration of 2006 (to new servers), you may have old mail stored on the server that you don't know is there. This happened to me and several of my clients. We had to log into OPS to see what mail accounts were there, then log into each to see what mail was there. There were backups of mail up to August 2006 that needed to be deleted.

If that is not the case and you have no old POP accounts, do you have mail stored BEFORE you forwarded to your gmail account? You already tried removing and recreating accounts. Did you try a new test account (one that didn't exist before) to forward to your gmail account to see if it would work? Maybe there is a problem related to the old address.

It does sound like there is a problem with mail forwarding but I haven't heard any complaints from clients yet. I will watch for them.
