After reading all the post here, I wanted to take a poll with what everyone thought of Pow Web and service.
Actually I think the question should be how do you like customer service. If you have NEVER had a problem the service is great ,if you have and tried to deal with customer sevice you enter the twilight zone!

I have been using powweb since january and I have to say this company is great. I really have not had any problems. Gary
Well I am too new here to vote yet so I will hold off on my vote for a little while. I think only people that have been here for a few months or so should vote for this to have merit.
I only started a few days ago and that is when the server I was on went down {LOL} so I don't know if this is a daily thing or if this is just my freaking luck :). I just signed up and the server goes down. Yep. Sounds like my luck LOL :) I don't thin this is a daily thing so I will have to wait and see.
One more point if I may. For the price I did not expect much customer service or tech support. I saw that they did not have an 800 number and that right there should tell you that they don't want you calling. I usually look for an 800 number when doing business because that means to me that they don't want to keep you on the phone long because they are paying for it. Also it means that they don't mind you calling form all over the place.
However, as I said I saw that going in and decided that web hosting is not rocket science. This seems like the kind of place that you use if you kind of know what you are doing. All you want is lots of space and the ability to access it. That is pretty much all I want and that is pretty much all PowWeb offers. I don't need my hand held and they don't want to hold it. As a result I don't have to pay a lot for services that other web hosts offer at a premium price because I don't need them.
As long as they give me a server that is up all the time (ok most of the time, no one can be up all the time) and the ability for me to access it and keep the price low I will be happy and vote yes, they are great.

So far, admins have talked down to me in several posts, and my site has been up and down like a yo yo since I moved here.
So far I am NOT AT ALL impressed.

If you are not having a problem then the service is great, of course, and when you have a "small problem" you would think that it would be easy to deal with. Instead, Tech Support is almost impossible to contact.
I'll give them credit for one thing: They gave credits when one server went down and they didn't have to (the only reason why I am still here.)
One thing to remember Powweb: It's not the problem that causes customers to be angry, it is how it is handled that makes people angry...
Remeber that.

Agree...
""If you are not having a problem then the service is great, of course, and when you have a "small problem" you would think that it would be easy to deal with. Instead, Tech Support is almost impossible to contact.""
And after a smooth one year hosting i found the same. My site www.laynetworks.com is down now for morethan 72 hrs. . Although the package status is active but ALL SERVICES ARE Still *PENDING* as per OPS.
Oh, this is hilarious. The last time I checked the results for this poll, the "A lot of problems, but I can live with it" option had 6 votes next to it. Now it only has 4! Please don't tell me that PowWeb not only deletes threads, but edits polls too?!! *sigh*
I guess I should give them the benefit of the doubt since Moderators apparently also have access to editing polls. How sad that somebody felt it necessary to change the results in PowWeb's favor.

No complaints here. In my experience ANY email answered promptly. Curteous staff. And this board with 8000+ users is an awesome resource thanks mainly to the staff & voulunteers who dedicate thier time helping others totaly for free. Powweb and it's community rocks.
I have been here for about 15 months and have had very few problems. That tells me that powweb is doing what their supposed to be doing.......especially for the low price!
I've been with PowWeb for over 2 years now, and I think they're a great company. Sure, there have been a few minor downtime issues and other problems, but everything was fixed promptly, and customer service has been quite helpful.
Plus, I haven't seen another company that can beat this value for the price. PowWeb also has consistantly upgraded everybody's package with no additional cost. When I first signed up I think there was 70 MB disk space, and no community forum yet. I am very glad I chose PowWeb. :)
If you haven't signed up yet, definatly give them a try. If you don't like it, just cancel within 30 days and get your money back.
