View Full Version : Question about .htaccess

I have just successfully set up a subdomain using the .htaccess procedures outlined in the tutorial. Worked like a champ. No problems.

But I've got other stuff in .htaccess, i.e., custom error pages. I can see this thing getting pretty cluttered pretty fast.

Is there a method for inserting comments into .htaccess, like the # in Perl or <!-- --> in HTML??

TIA.

I believe you can use the perl # to make a comment in your script. Maybe someone else con confirm that, but I am about 99% sure.

still not a 100% affirmation. . but I believe I've read that somewhere along the way also..

Thanks, folks :)

I know # works in robots.txt files, so it probably works in .htaccess, too?

It's that 1% uncertainty factor that bugs me

I'll give it a try.

Let us know if it works or not so we can clear up the 1%.

Best.

Added a couple of #-prefixed comments to my .htaccess & it works like it did before. So I guess the 1% uncertainty is now eliminated.
