View Full Version : transitions image viewer
hi
can someone test this for me
its an image viewer done with sliding transitions
all i need to know is
do the images load fast enough
to make the transitions work
on 56k modem ??
should the delay time be longer ??
thanks
p.s. click on autoviewer link for the transition thing

I have ADSL and IE6, you may not want to hear from me but will participate anyway. First, nice background designs, most have good flash potential, but the slide show is somewhat jerky. That may be an illusion created by using a white background rather than matching the next slides dominant color as a background or say a dark purple, blue, etc. Also, you might add/change the transition interest by including:
<META http-equiv="Page-Enter" content="revealTrans(Transition=23,Duration=3.000)">
Transition=23 provides a random screen wipe for IE5+ browsers(as I'm sure you know).
RE:IE6 =IE5+ no? Still not a function of N/S 6+ and Mozilla+
OR: if you mean IE5+ does not render transitions it did for me. English often seems like a second language to me.
muijefr...may I correct you:
Transition=23 provides a random screen wipe for IE5+ browsers
that should be IE6+
hi
thanks for looking. i just thought it might look ok
with transitions but im not keen
and it looks erm yak.
i saw a javascript that
the ebiz.net posted on here a while back
ive been looking at that and it looks like exactly
what i need i might use that if i can suss it
out its just gotta be better than editing 20 pages a time
im happy with the clickable links (reasonably)
so ill add that bg image change javascript
i think that will do it nicely
cheers
:)
p.s. hey it was you who posted that script
muijefr lol
well thanks for the help :)
If your interested I have a Java Script/HTML app that renders an external list/.txt of html documents that's far superior to the Java Script I used on my site, or if you want the Script I use on my site I can package and email it to you ( I don't use the external .txt version because I don't want it swiped, but I'll give it away...go figuer). You are in a good position to use the external/.txt html document version because your backgrounds are already in an html file and adding or creating a new version is simple as text edit a list of names. If you want it I'll post it for access to the forum with a readme.txt. I developed it because so many slide show are limited to same size images, or one browser renders variable size but not variable types, or whatever, this script/HTML renders anything thats housed in HTML, text, and/or image as a closed loop slide show.
hi
yes send me both please
ive used the one off your site here and changed
the mouseover command for an onclick instead
ive done two types of page using your script
im not sure which to use
this one
http://www.neutron1.com/backgrounds.htm
because it has two ways to view the images
(just in case someone has javascript disabled)
its the "Browse the backgrounds easily click here" link by the way
or this one on its own
http://www.neutron1.com/ADS/backgrounds_allinone.htm
the good bit about this one is u can make everything
disappear except the background
by rolling the mouse off the page
the only trouble is it makes everything disappear
when you scroll down too which might confuse
some people im still working
on a way to have something appear on the page
when everything disappears to tell people
that its disappeared lol
(i did it in dreamweaver so the script is their version
of javascript)
I've posted a download URL for the variable externally specified slide show I think is my best offering. The zip folder contains a sample show. After unzipping click SlideShow.html. It also contains a README.txt that will help you create your own versions. Anyone wanting to see what the show is all about feel free if you please. If there are any question contact me by my email or this forum.
