FTP is SLOooowwwww

When I FTP my pages up or down from my website, it is VERY slow. Not like it used to be at the other facility that Powweb had.

Anyone else experiencing this ?

Actually, I usually average .45 kps with powweb, never seen much higher, but I jsut checked before typing this and am getting 15 kps or so, my uploading max (Did I mention i hate rural americs's cable and its uploading maxes?)

And 50 kps (peaking at 100) down, NICE!

so call it a glitch, FTP seems fine for me.

It has been slow drilling down into directories, that have many files in them. like .gif files. I am sure, the upload and download speeds were better, maybe the network needs to settle a bit more.
I will continue to watch it, thanks for the reply.

I was coming to the forums here to see if anyone else was posting about this same topic. Yes, ftp is very slow for me too. The uploading or downloading is fast for me when it's working, but it stalls for a minute or so, then carries on, then stalls again and so on till the transfer is done. Seems to take awhile to connect to whatever port number. Since the powweb update over the weekend, I find ftp is slower. Before that it didn't happen as often, but still happened. Hopefully this will get better like my email did :)
