You can always write the Better Business Bureau, and then they'll have to explain what happened in order to keep in the good graces of the BBB. If everybody writes, they've got problems.

Hehe.. I am an Australian so I've always wanted to say that :) (weird american slang.. bwhahaha)

Anyway.. Yeah.. Hmm.. Sure yeah.. Sue 'em while your at it..

Hell.. Get a few planes and land em in that lovely building at 2168 South Atlantic Blvd, suite 232 I believe it is.. in Monterey Park..

Yeah great plan..

Hell take the whole client base down with Powweb while your at it.. And chew the heads off the admin's too.. Eat em up.. Gulp..

Yumm Yumm.. Swallloooww.. Gulp..

That was refreshing, yes??

Right.. Enough said.. I am getting my sniper rifle now and hunting down Starr and Andrew

Bahhh.. What a load of crap..

Please people.. I dont work for Powweb.. And yes.. I can understand your anger.. And I am not going to try and justify this problem is due to their low price tag, because that is just plainly wrong to even use that as leverage in this case..

It is wrong what has been done.. For those of us who've been here for some time now, you'll already be accustomed to the occassional hiccup's of Powweb's service..

Well.. It happens.. And yes.. Hey.. feel free.. whoever this BBB is.. Tell em (i suppose they are the what we have as the Fair Trading Commission and Australian Competition & Consumer Commission)..

What can I say.....

"It's a disaster.. Such a catastrophe, for y'all to see so damn little of my site, you asked for cheeep? Well they're back.. {Batman noise} Na nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah... Fix your bentup server, plug it in and I'm then I'm gonna.. Enter up into your site like a hacker, The datacenter needs attention, I'm back for 2 hours, It's fustrating, the worst thing since wrestling, infesting into our clients ears and infesting, testing "Attention Powweb", feel the tension soon as someone mentions them, here's my 777cents, my other provider's cents are free, a nuisance, who sent, I paid for this?"

There you go people.. If you like eminem.. and you hate powweb.. that's not a bad piece for 5 minutes work...
bwhahaa

Just chill people.. There are still children in Africa dying of starvation and homelessness. There are still people in Asia ploughing the rice fields.. The world will keep spinning.. The sun will rise tomorrow.. Your partner will still love as much tonight (if not more due to the lack of interest in the internet now that your site is down)...

I could go on.. But this should make the post of the month...

Bwhahaha :)

Ok.. Enough said for now..

Sleep well people..

I have a question for any and all of you:

Have you ever, since owning any PC, gone down to your local electronics store and purchased a new component for it that has "Simple Plug and Play" written all over it implying that it could take you 2 minutes to get it set up? But, when simply 'Plug and Play' your computer locks up, has to go through 10 hours of debugging, download new updated drivers for your new 'toy' and generally make you want to smash your computer with a giant sledge hammer?

Well, multiply that by 1,000 and you get the idea of what Powweb has been dealing with in trying to upgrade their network to provide all of us with better service in the long run. Although their move was not what you would consider a simple 'plug and play' installation, they did not anticipate many of the issues that came to be. They handled them as quickly as possible, contacted all customers with an explanation, and their good intentions seemed to be overlooked because many web sites were down for just too darn long for some people.

I, too, run multiple sites and my uptime is critical. But I'm willing to sacrifice a few visitors to know that there's an assurance that my hosting company will be going long and strong in the future in anticipation of their continue growth.

Let's not forget to count our blessings as to what Powweb offers us and has the foresite to look ahead to other more critical issues as their customer base grows and make the proper moves now to prevent those more drastic problems from occurring later. They still have the best package in town and they just got better :)

I just wonder why PW let these forums be open while problems like these occur.

Other than ranting, if ppl have forgotten, these forums are still a place our users can come for assistance by other users.

As for closing ‘em? Trust me; it's not always an easy decision. ;)

We're just gonna sit back and ride out the weather. "Bow to the wind" as they say.

In fact while a very small number of users start arguing about the service, downtime etc... blablabla...

the forums still helps other users solve their email problems, ftp settings, etc...

Closing this forums to avoid useless arguments would eliminate the help given to several other users.

Unfortunately at the moment from an IP address you cannot deduce the intelligence of a person and maybe his character. That would be helpfull to keep some users out!! :)

HERE HERE!!

What a bunch of whiners. If you hate Powweb NOW more than ever, go somewhere else. I'm sure your business will be missed but IMO I would rather lose an unhappy customer than keep him/her.
I am sure they are not just sitting back twiddling their thumbs. Heck they are all probably over there right now running around frantically trying to get things where they should be.

Kudos to POWWEB. I will stick with you guys until the end. You have my support and business.

Yes I too have multiple sites up and down and up and down again over the last couple days, but big fat hairy friggin' woopie. I sure the heck ain't losin' no sleep over it. If you are losin' sleep, or precious customers, then move on. No sense in making empty threats of reporting to the BBB. What are they going to do. Does anyone REALLY think the BBB is going to come down on Powweb?
I highly doubt it.
I am sure Powweb will make it right where reimbursements are warranted for site downtime, but don't hold your breath on the BBB bringing a class action suit against one of the best webhosts out there anytime soon.

I wouldn't blame Powweb one iota if they shut these boards down until everything is resolved. With all this ranting and raving going on, it's a wonder they can even get anything done with all the disgruntled users crying and bombarding them with posts, email, calls, etc.

Sitting back? Thats' just a figure of speach right?:)

Anywho. I apoligize for my venting here, but I have been reading a lot of these posts here today and I guess I got a little irritated. I am sure I just a said a few things Powweb supporters and employees wish they could say.

I am the silent majority MUHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

So the first PowWeb customer has gone mad. I knew it was only a matter of time.

I'm guessing you can view this with some equanimity, SimCoWeb, because your email and website are working again. Mine aren't so I'm a lot less forgiving.

I would. I looked into switching during some Mail2 problems a while back, and some of the other hosting companies looked really good but didn't have nice, open boards like this, so I rejected them and stayed here. If PowWeb starts shutting down the board when the heat is on, deleting every post they don't like when it is open, and so on, it will be much less attractive to me.

I am happy to see they're letting people rant and rave quite a bit today. Let people do it, and it will be down to almost nothing in a couple of days. Wage war on your users, as Andrew essentially proposed to do, and it would be a long, bloody battle that nobody will win.

So, yes, if they shut down this board, I will not only blame them one iota, but maybe I'll actually blame them two or even three iotas. :)
