1) Figure out what server your site is on.
Eg - space / asteroid etc (only two I can remember - off-hand)..
2) Go into your browser & go to the URL
eg :-
http://space.powweb.com or
http://asteroid.powweb.com
that will give you the IP number of your server...
3) Locate a file called "hosts" in your c:WINDOWS Directory (i'm on Win 98)
& edit it..
on a new-line.. do this :-
4) Add a new line with the IP number, & the name of your site..
eg - for SPACE - the ip is :-
63.251.213.27 www.mysite.com
This will allow you to View (& hopefully FTP ???) your site.. - Havnt tried FTP - im off to bed.. - getting late...
But - The IP numbers should be operational to the rest of the world - soon -
so only you need to do that - unless you want to tell a few regular people... ;-)
