View Full Version : Too much #@#$%^* downtime!
I'm an irate customer!
I've not been on this service a week. It's down over 50% of the time.
Is this a case of you get what you pay for?
If I want my site "up" more often should I be looking at another provider?
What kind of $#%* is this?
Y'all need to fix this!

Youve just arrived when Powweb is upgrading / improving / Changing their servers & ISP..
Let things settle for the next 12-24 hours & things should be peachy-keen by then.
Theyve done their work.. But some DNS/IP numbers need to migrate accross the ISP servers
Ive just tested & I know my site is working.. - But for everyone else - They cant view it (at this time) - for another 12-24 hours.
(see my message re "Temporary fix" )

I have used Powweb to host my sites for over a year. They have provided pretty good uptime, but not 99.7% as they promised. They will not stand behind that uptime statement beyond your 30 tryout.
I have tried one other hosting service, but they could not deliver on their promises either, for the money Powweb has been okay. I'm still with them, but not real happy with their service.

Since last Sunday my website in <http://www.omega-software.biz,> hosted in quasar, has been down intermitently for about more than 40 hours.
Today is down again. I can't receive e-mail.
When making a ping my domain name can't be resolved.
My business is in Europe, so when Californians are sleeping we are working hard.
So we are losing a lot of money and customers because of the anomalies in powweb.
Powweb never notified us about this problem.
We are seriously considering moving to another hosting.

My site is down once again. What's up powweb? I understand the new server deal, but I thought this was supposed to be better than ever?

I work in IT so I can understand the problems with major server moves. And to be honest, my site being down is only a minor issue, musch more annoying since I have other issues I need to troubleshoot.
The first thing I ever learned in IT was "Fix the customer first, then fix the problem". Powweb support really should use this forum as a place where they can work with athe customer base and try to fix us.
Not getting a email because my account does nto renew automaticly was a horrable idea. I set it to not renew so if something like this happons I would have a easy way out.
I am just venting a little. Once everything is fixed I am sure I will be happy again.
I just purchased my full year, but I still have at least 20 days left on my trial.................. hopefully it won't take that long before I can upload. I'm not *****ing, just a little disapointed in my timing to join powweb. I came here because powweb is known as a big dog on alot of sites I frequent, I hope I'm not disapointed after issues are resolved.
Thanks........... I hope
Angell...you will definetly not be dissapointed...
BTW you may start uploading immediately. If you need help feel free to post again.

I joined powweb a week ago, and all i have seen is horrendous service. Why aren`t we emailed beforehand to notify us with any forthcoming downtime. Not everyone has time to chat in forum!
Also, if this was a crucial time for you, so is for us!!! We are spending lots of money to attract visitors to our site and you are only helping us in loosing this money! We have just started our business and you are ruining our first impression, remember no one gets second chance for the first impression!!
If we " just arrived when Powweb is upgrading / improving / Changing their servers & ISP.." you should have told us before we joined!! It isn`t our problem you are upgrading. You had our money, we want your service!! You should have informed us when joining that powweb will be upgrading - please come again next week. What surprises me is that mine and other users sites were down most of the time during the last 3 days, while your was UP!!!
Even those stupid aoutomated emails- why don`t we ever receive a personal reply to our email, explaining what happened?! We have a problem with some email accounts that got never resolved. We only receive the email notification!! Its only a week we`ve joined and we`re fed up! remember that $90 is only a few money to loose and switch to another hosting provider!
