To all of you people who are whining about POWWEB. **** happens. Get over it. the last time there was a major outage on powweb i got six months free service and i had only been a customer for a short time. Try going somewhere else and getting everything you get here (this forum for example) for the same price. Also since ive been here they have added some features to the 7.77 plan for free(i dont remeber what they were im sure some of you do though), i dont know of anywhere else where you get anything for free after you sing up.
If you want 100% uptime go pay $30.00 a month or more. I think i am getting a bargin for 7.77 a month and if along the way my service is interupted here and there to make my service better, i can live with that.

BAD-***-CJ,

I gotta disagreed with what you're saying. Your answer to all this is that **** happens, so deal with it?!!!

I'm glad I don't have to work with or deal with people that have your attitude very often!

And I'm so tired of hearing how the low price for PowWeb justifies the problems we all endure. The argument just doesn't hold water! These huge periods of instability during upgrades can be avoided. At a minumum, they should not be tolerated by senior management at PowWeb or its customers... at any price!

Bad ***, you may not mind all the crap we're all going through, but there are a good number of serious, professional people that use these services and that are justifiably pissed off with PowWeb right now. Instead of telling us all to simply deal with it, why don't YOU deal with the fact that when major meltdowns like this happen, it pisses off a lot of paying customers, and these forums are the BEST place to vent.

I agree with Ken, and Paaw.com will soon be under the jurisdiction of a new web hosting provider. Unacceptable.

I already made the transfer for the Paaw.com domain. And they should refund me, they should do something to make up for all their mistakes. The customer shouldn't have to "understand."

Take a look at this one: My other associated domain.

http://www.paaws.com/

The DNS is pointed to another provider, but that's why I purchased the domain and hosting for, to offer free web sites through another provider. Winnie tells me it's because the DNS is pointing to another Server. Well the DNS has been pointing to another provider since I purchased the domain and hosting since Novermebr of last year (2001), and it was always active and always accessible. Not since the move to the new data center.

Regardless of the reason, I asked Powweb for a refund on an account that had only been active since 09/04/02. They didn't give me a full refund, instead they charged me for 2 months of service I didn't received, plus a $10.00 early termination fee.

I payed for 2 years of service in advance. I am out $25.54 for 16 days of service, of which my site was only up for 12 days.

Powweb Hardly Perfect

Already contacted the Attorny General at the link provided. Did that before I posted. Thanks for the link. I'm just about at my limit for persuing this matter. Need to let it go, but want forget and will not recommend Powweb to anyone.
