OK, I'm having MX probs.

if bigmailbox.com told me:

When your domain name host edits your MX record, be sure that the ONLY
mail server that is referenced is "mailrecv.bigmailbox.com". Also notify your
domain name host to remove any reference to your domain in their "sendmail" files.

i want to use them as a secondary, does this mean i can't? when i first tried:

I added an MX thing

host: mymail
mail server: mailrecv.bigmailbox.com. (i'm pretty sure i had the "." at the end, like i heard i'm supposed to...)

i waited a quite a few days, i think, and mymail.somegoodstuff.com still did not go anywhere. so i reversed the host and the mail server, so the host is now mailrecv.bigmailbox.com., and the mail server is now mymail (i just recently did this reversal, and i will wait and see if it works, which i doubt it will). what should i do?

Josh,

From your post, it is very difficult for me to imagine what you want to accomplish. And since I'm not from Powweb, I can't look at your zone files. However, this information from outside might be instructive:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# nslookup

> somegoodstuff.com

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: somegoodstuff.com
Address: 64.63.125.38

> set type=mx
> somegoodstuff.com

Non-authoritative answer:
somegoodstuff.com preference = 10, mail exchanger = mail.somegoodstuff.com

Authoritative answers can be found from:
somegoodstuff.com nameserver = NS2.POWWEB.com
somegoodstuff.com nameserver = NS3.POWWEB.com
mail.somegoodstuff.com internet address = 64.63.125.220
NS2.POWWEB.com internet address = 64.63.125.202
NS3.POWWEB.com internet address = 64.63.125.203
> exit
#
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, in looking at this information I would suspect that your e-mail at somegoodstuff.com should now be working just fine, assuming that you have set up your POP users and SMTP addresses appropriately.

However, as I say, I am having trouble understanding what you want.
