    Victim #1

    Name: Matt
    Birthday: 7/22/80
    Location: Reading, PA
    Computer(s): 2 fulltime (XP, Red Hat 9)
Favorite Design Tool: Flash, Photoshop, Notepad

What first brought you to PowWeb?

The space/bandwidth limits and cheap hosting.

We've recently found out that your account number is 44. How long have you been here?

    February 2000

You took an almost eleven month hiatus from the forums awhile back; your "unofficial advice" was missed. Where did you go?

I spent a few months fixing up an old house and moving.

How much time, on average, do you say you spend at the PowWeb Forums per day?

Oh boy...about 8 while I'm at work and another 1-2 hours at home.

What's your favorite aspect of PowWeb?

The forums of course. I came here not knowing html or any scripting...now I know a lot of that and more. I just try to pass it on.

Do you visit any other forums?

I check in with my pals at the cougar forums (I have 2002 mercury cougar).

When did you first begin doing web design?

In college (1998). Started with Fortune City free web hosting with the online WYSIWYG editors. Then I started messing with the code to change it around.

Is web design your full-time job? If not, what do you do?

I wish it was. I am a programmer/network admin for a retailer on the east coast.

    What is your dream job?

Starting a multi-million dollar web design firm...or CEO of Disney.

Outside of web design and computers, what are your other hobbies?

I like to work on cars, and try to keep in shape.

If there was one thing you could do tomorrow with no repercussions, what would it be?

Parachute from a plane and rob a bank (peacefully of course).

Same here BWG, I am getting ready to start a web design business but it will be on the side work . I hope that one day I can just rely on Web Design only. The good thing is that I like doing the design and my wife is a graphic designer and she likes fixing pictures so we make a good team. BTW BWG congrats on the engagement. I just go married in June of this year. We actually have a lot in common BWG my birthday is in July also I was born in 1983 though. And we both want to be sucessful in every thing we do. I also have a degree in Network Admin. Well, anyways I think powweb forums rock and everyone that post in here rocks!!
If it is to be then it is up to me

I wouldn't wait 5 years for a guy to say he will marry me, then not set a date! She must have patience or a bet riding on you!

And if you are not married, glad to hear you don't have kids. You need someone to blame when the kids misbehave, someone has to distract the kids when you prepare the Easter baskets or wrap gifts...

My husband's birthday is in July and we will be married 8 years on April 27th. JJ and Skunkboy are my favorite cyber boyfriends. But after visiting your website with the eyes, I feel like I put on a show for you!

Congrats on your engagement?! Is that to you? her? Well, you're not married until the pastor/priest/rabbi/JP says so. Enjoy your last days single, but not too much.

I used to watch it a long time ago...then it came back on again when I was in college (and its really funny to watch when you're drunk). I still like to watch it on the cartoon network...so there it is. I like to change my avatar every 1000 posts...so the next one will be my bassett hound...even though he's a bad dog

I thought maybe you looked like him.

So, you like to work on cars, too. I have a 1966 Caddy that needs the back quarters replaced and welded or else be cheap and bondo it. Been sanding the original lead paint so I can repaint it. The neighbor does welding and painting, so maybe when I have some money, I can get him to do it.

Had to sell cars for money. Don misses his Mustangs and I miss my Chevys. If we win the lottery, we will fill up the barn with cars again.

I had an origianl Mustang - the 1964 1/2. It was blueprinted, bored and stroked. Had 160lbs of compression. Followed by a 1967 (that one blew the doors off many a challenger). Sometimes I think I should have saved them. But then I remember what rust buckets they were then . . . they would be nothing but oxide now. I used to drag them on the beach in Daytona - so now you get the rust comment. They were so light (partiularly in the back end) that they would scream off the sand while the muscle cars would just dig. Obviously you can't do that anymore - but it sure was fun then. *end trip down memory lane *

Don had a 1968 convertible that was sold to someone a few miles from us. His children played sports at the park next to us and immediately visited when the next car was up for sale. (It costs big bucks to live here.)

It was a holiday weekend, so the banks were closed. He gave me $20 (all he had) and his social security card as a deposit! He called the following Monday and I said, "Come get your card and $20. We sold it to someone else.". He freaked out. I was kidding. He stopped by the bank on the way here. So he has that one.

Last year we needed money for the mortgage and sold the 1967 Mustang fastback from CA (no rust!) my husband drove to the car cruise where we met. In fact, I still have video of him driving into the parking lot. We see it very often since it was sold to his brother who owns the Mobil station and garage. We will see it Thursday when we take the van for PA state inspection and exhaust work.

I sold my 1972 Chevy Nova last year to a retired Navy man near Lancaster, PA. But the other cars are in different states. The 42 Ford pickup is down in Georgia or Florida, but we still have a rebuilt V8 flathead here. He wanted the original 6 cylinder!

So, anyone interested in a 1966 Caddy with the original 429 that runs great, low miles? Or a rebuilt V8 flathead from a 1939 Ford car with extra parts including a rear, steering wheel and column, radiator and whatever the guy who sold it to us didn't need when he street rodded his car?

As for the motorcycles, we promised them to JJ if he ever gets out here with a truck. And we are looking for an International Scout 1968 to 1975?

For those who have seen them, we gave a 1956 Fairlane to my husband's stepson from his late wife and the other one is a parts car he bought on Ebay. The Chevy truck belongs to the neighbor. The dozen cars we had when we married have dwindled as money was needed, but things should improve.

It seems we have replaced vehicles with tractor parts, though. And the reconstructed horse trailer is so handy. We miss the cars, but they are like homes - money pits.

ya know.. it's funny when you have a 'visual' of someone you feel like you've known a long time..

and then it's completely blown to smithereens when you see a real pic of them...<G>

(not in a bad way mind you.. just not what I expected )
