    FrontPage will not connect

I have recently created a PowWeb account. As far as I know it is active and working now. However, when I try to upload from FrontPage it cannot connect to the server. I have installed FrontPage extensions on my account. I can connect with CuteFTP and I tried uploading all of the files but I cannot access them when I type in the address. (runawaytrainbluegrass.com) Any suggestions? I am new at this. I have never uploaded a web page before.

    Hello,

For new accounts, FrontPage does not do well connecting using the temporary URL. It usually works better to wait 24-48 hours until your domain name DNS settings become operable then publish to your regular domain by selecting the File meny and choosing Publish Site. Publish to http://yourdomain.com.
    All the best, Rick E

If you plan to stay with FrontPage, consider upgrading to FrontPage 2003 now.

Hello, and thank you for the reply. I have over two days and it says my permanent domain is available now. I can access it through a CuteFTP.

    Hi,

Strange, the WHO-IS listing indicates the runawaytrainbluegrass.com is available for sale. Did you purchase that domain name? Just signing up for web hosting does not purchase the domain name automatically.

If you have not purchased the domain name runawaytrainbluegrass.com, you can go to http://godaddy.com and get it. Then at Godaddy.com set the DNS to ns3.powweb.com and ns2.powweb.com.
    All the best, Rick E

When I signed up with Powweb they said the domain was free with the package. I have also noticed that it says it is "pending". I guess that means it is not registered yet. Anyway, I did go to the temporary domain and found that the files I uploaded were there. I could see the home page but the link bar was not there so I could not get to any of the other pages.

As it's still not showing up after 5 days I'd drop billing@powweb.com a line AND raise a support ticket.

MJP has had to force through a number of registrations lately so it seems the system isn't working as smoothly as it once did. Good luck!
