This Public Alert was just posted:

When you login to your Control Panel today, you're going to notice a few new things. Most notably, is a new bar at the top of the Main tab which contains a link to Preferences. Clicking on the Preferences link takes you to a new page full of preferences you can now set for your Control Panel.

Here’s a little bit more about what the changes entail:
  • Ability to choose between a few different Control Panel layouts
  • Much of the information previously loaded in “bricks” has been widgetized. You can now choose which widgets to display, collapse the widgets, and refresh a widget without reloading the entire page.
  • You'll be able to restrict access to your control panel by IP (Basically a whitelist for your Control Panel)
  • There will be an option for the FileManager to use a WYSIWYG edit or a text editor.
  • You'll now be able to choose whether or not you want to show system files like .htaccess in the FileManager.

Check it out and let us know what you think!
