    Unhappy MediaWiki is not working

This problem seems the same as reported by rrborchers on 8-22-06 (But I could not find the solution.) I have just installed mediawiki through the InstallCentral. The installer ran fine, and all files seemed to be in the correct place. However, when I tried to edit the Main page, most of the internal links are incorrect, leaving out the domain when accessing a php function. e.g. http://index.php/?title=Main_Page&action=edit. It should be something like http://wiki.<mydomain>/index.php/?title=Main_Page&action=edit Is there a way to modify the setup file to get the links correct? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try editing the localsettings.php file, change the line for $wgScriptPath to "/xxxxxxx/"
where the xxxxxxx is the directory where you installed the wiki.

The edit page for mine shows as \\domainname.com/wikihere//index.php?title=Main_Page&action=edit (http: removed to avoid creating URL).

I tried with $wgScriptPath = "/mywiki/" where mywiki is the directory I installed the wiki, but the result was the error "Page not found". However, I noticed that the whole url shows http://wiki.<mydomain>/mywiki//index.php?title=Main_Page. I installed wiki on the subdomain 'wiki 'and the original $wgScriptPath= "/", so I guessed the extra "/" could be the problem. I changed $wgScriptPath = "" and voila, my wiki site is alive and all the links are correct now. Thanks for pointing me to the right direction.

Better the right one than the wrong one, wadegong!

Glad to be of help. I'm still playing with Mediawiki and learning my ways around it.
