    dedicated IP

I looked through for the answer to this but can't find one.
Does PowWeb offer dedicated IP? If so, at what price?

They are still "one plan, one price" so I'd say no.

As of now, we don't offer dedicated IP addresses.

There's been rumbling that we may change that in the near future, but nothing's been written in concrete as of yet.

Seems like it would be a really good idea in light of all the ATT problems recently.

Agreed, and as other items are now offered as extra cost items within the 'one plan, one price' slogan it could be done if Powweb marketing people thought it would get a good enough response.

To clarify, I don't think that we're not sold on the idea of doing it, it's the technical implementation of doing it, that's holding us back.

With shared pool-type hosting, it's difficult to assign a dedicated IP address to someone, especially if it needs to move to a backup server, in the even of an outage.

It's something that's been on the backburner for a while now, and will hopefully move forward. I'm sure people would love to have dedicated IPs, so they can have dedicated SSL certificates.

    AMEN to that!

Can we do anything to push the idea along to implementation? I have a dedicated IP on another site hosted by another company and that's why I went there with the site, so I could have a dedicated IP. I'm considering moving three more sites for that very reason. It's just such a pain in the rear to move a site that uses mySQL and lots of cgi. Implementing dedicated IP here would put those thoughts behind me.

Nope, don't need to do anything. The powers that be are already working on it.
