    Google Apps/Email - MX records???

    Hi

I'm trying to change the MX records to get Google Apps & Email working.
There are suggestions for other hosts but not Powweb. So I am presented with the defult options (below)

We have 3 MX Slots available in the Custom DNS page of OPS - which of the suggestions below would I select?

    MX Server address Priority
    ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. 10
    ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. 20
    ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. 20
    ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. 30
    ASPMX3.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. 30
    ASPMX4.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. 30
    ASPMX5.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. 30

    Anything else to do?
    Thanks for any help

Answering my own question here - I found this thread which contained the solution:
    http://forums.powweb.com/showthread....ht=google+mail

Basically, do the following (it worked for me):

Go to Custom DNS Record Console in OPS and select the Domain you need to modify.

Change the Address (A) for "mail" to IP address 72.14.207.121 which is the address of ghs.google.com

Delete any existing MX records and add the following Mail Exchanger (MX) records:
    1 ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
    5 ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
    10 ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.

Add a CNAME alias "mail" to show ghs.google.com. as the hostname. You can also do this for docs, calendar, and start for google apps.
    ie. mail.yourdomain.com, docs.yourdomain.com, calendar.yourdomain.com, and start.yourdomain.com

Hope this helps someone - Powweb should make a sticky message with these instructions.

I made this thread sticky (it's shorter)
It references the previous thread, so further help is available if needed.
