Exclamation Help with SMF and connection to datebase.

I did a search and couldn't find any recent information.

I installed SMF using InstallCentral, when finished it stated "SMF installed successfully." and then I received this email message "There has been a problem with the database! This is a notice email to let you know that SMF could not connect to the database, contact your host if this continues." Any idea where to start in order to correct this?

    Thanks, Pete

    Unhappy Still looking for help.

I spoke to soon..........it shows up on the page now but click anything and this is what I get "Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later. "

    Thanks, Pete

Did you try contacting support? It sounds like an 'intermittent' problem rather than one someone corrected. Every now and again this sort of issue (intermittently unable to contact DB) comes up, eventually enough complain and the problem is investigated properly and corrected.
