    Sitedelux Frustration

It seems like most users stay away from sitedelux and Iím starting to figure out why! I have talked with 5 level 1 techs and 2 different tech specialists and I still have the same issues with sitedelux. Iím continually unable to edit and publish my sites along with the "Remote Publish Error" that many others seem to have.

The latest tech specialist told me to ďtry publishing again (The second or sometimes third try, usually works)Ē

Why does Powweb even advertise and support a program that they seem to know is junk?

I came to Powweb because I was looking for a simple, fast, easy website designer and hosting all in one that I could build multiple website in. I didnít want to have to deal with the pain of installing wordpress or any other 3rd party design programs.

You could try Compozer or NVU for site design. They're free! They don't require installation on your webspace, and have an inbuilt FTP program to upload designed pages.
Sitedeluxe, as you've noticed, isn't popular amongst those on these forums. Marketing decide what is offered by Powweb, tech support just get left to pick up the pieces!

I totally agree, hosting companies offer "in house" website buildlng tools to attract new customers who simply want a five page set and forget website. A huge market, why pay when you can do it yourself right? Works fine for most oblivious to a site full of obscure code search engines slam. Many hosts still charge extra for additional pages or "features" that will not improve your presence on the internet.

Thanks guys. I submitted another ticket on it, but in the mean time I’m going back to ms FrontPage and I’m giving Nvu a try.

Is there a way I can just completely flash my powweb account and start everything over from a day one configuration?

Yes, use FileManager (in OPS) or an FTP program like FileZilla (it's free) to delete all folder/files inside your htdocs folder. Then is OPS delete any databases you might have under the MySQL tab. That should pretty much be it.
