Run an executable from the address bar

    Hello,

I am a C++ programmer and need some assistance with finding out how powweb does things. My goal is to write a C++ executable that is run from an http call such as: http://www.mywebsite.com/cgi-bin/myp...e?value=123456

So far I have tried uploading the binary as a windows exe and a linux bin. I have CHMODed to 755. Whenever I enter the above line in my address bar, the browser tries to download the file instead.

I found some older forums from year 2002 that mention that the server is BSD, however, my powweb server settings say it is running debian. Does anyone know how this might be accomplished?

Not even a Linux one. There is no control over the nature of this executable, and therefore would be a security risk.

It's no longer BSD, this changed a few years ago.
