Anyone Get Gallery 3.0 Up and Running?

I get " needs PHP 5.2.3 or higher" error. I also posted on PHP Forum since is of interest to both.

If you search for Gallery 3 in this forum, you will see a few of your posts and some from others who are still waiting for php to be upgraded so people can run Gallery 3. As far as I know, no one is running it here though a few people tried and failed.

We are not allowed to post info about other web hosts here, so I can't include the link from the Gallery forum. There are other hosts people tried and they discuss if they were good or bad. Some hosts have limits on bandwidth or disk space while others simply do not have the correct php requirements.

You could also consider a different photo gallery cms.

Thank you. I will wait. I have no interest in changing hosts.

I'm not familiar with Gallery 3, or 1 & 2, and I probably won't familiarize myself with 4, and I'm surely not saying that this, TinyWebGallery | A free php Ajax photo album / gallery, is any better or worse, but I just thought I'd post it so others could take a look and, consider..

I saw the AJAX gallery and suggested it to people in the past as an alternative to other galleries. I only post my own photos and don't want or need others to upload photos to my gallery, so I don't need a cms. I upload images using FTP software and never through the browser. XML galleries can be used in place of MySQL for faster loading. But many people like to share images like car club members posting pics of their rides, so they need member logins. The solution really depends on the requirements for each customer.

Oh so true. While TWG does support logins and member uploads and other CMS 'stuff', I FTP upload images and edit the XML 'photo caption' file manually.

Yeah, I also like to edit manually and upload using FTP software. I hate uploading anything through the browser. I can't see how people upload groups of images through the browser before the script times out. I can't even upload a group of photos to Facebook or MySpace!

PHP 5.3.0 has been available for two months 5.2.3 ages before that. An upgrade is on the to-do list. I wish they'd hurry up. ZenPhoto and Coppermine are cool but the ZenPhoto I have here keeps breaking the database connection.

Any way to move it up the to-do list?
