Can't explain this 404 GET in stats

Can someone help me figure out why I am getting this line in my logfiles?

    69.*.*.* - - [08/Nov/2009:00:00:54 -0500] "GET /404.html HTTP/1.0" 200 2297 "http://www.******.***/games/*****levels.swf" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; GTB5; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)"

I get this line every time a someone visits the page that has the ****levels.swf file embeded in it.

My question is why the "GET /404.html" part. It doesn't register as a error in my stats as I only show two 404 error messages for the month, yet this file is being called many many times each day.

If I load the page everything has always loaded fine and the 404 page never loads on any computer.

It looks like your site has set up a custom 404 page at 404.html. Check your .htaccess file for an instruction like:

    ErrorDocument 404 404.html

(I might have the syntax wrong, but that's close). You can delete that instruction or create the page 404.html with an appropriate message for users who encounter a "Page Not Found" error. Which begs the question, why is the document at ***levels.swf causing a 404 error in the first place. It would probably be a good idea to scan your log files for all 404 errors to see which file isn't being found in the first place.

Maybe it is not a 404 error, but a file called by the flash file.
