    s2Member

    Hey all,

About 4 years ago, I set up a very custom website for a client.

About 6 months ago they moved to wordpress, and about 1 month ago they realized WHY I did all the custom work in the first place.

So I'm moving everything back, but there are a hand full of features from wordpress they like.

Chiefly, they like the S2Member plug in.

So I have a two part question.

    1) Part one: I can install word press just to use S2Member?

    2) Are there any standalone "systems" that do what S2Member does?

    Many thanks,

    Note: This a powweb website.

S2member looks pretty basic in terms of maintaining membership. I have been looking for a Joomla tool that would manage membership like this Wordpress tool: http://member.wishlistproducts.com/#features

Okay, I think I misunderstand what S2Member does.
We we're using pay pal in the past in fact.

I only glanced at S2Member quickly, but it really did just look like a basic gateway to information. I would jut check with the client and ask them what they really want it to do and forget about the tools they are using.

They are coming back to you for a reason, they didn't like how things were functioning.

Thanks, I hope to meet with them today. I think they want a more social component to the site, so this S2Member may be a red herring.

If that is the case, I would guess that they are looking to have a forum/message board in a private area and S2Member was just what they were using to keep it private and collect payment for it.
