    Angry mailbox size warning?

Apologies, I'm sure this has been answered a million times before but I'm really upset

Why doesn't Powweb send out notices when you approach your 250MB mail box size limit?

    Tack (Swedish for Thanks),
    Kevin

Why? Hmmmm..... nobody here knows but we can guess that it's because they expect you to check periodically and also they expect you to download the mail and not let it stand on their servers.

They do send warnings....to the people sending you e-mail!

I like to IMAP my mailboxes so that I have access while I am on the road. I have to remember on a regular basis to go in and archive stuff. I usually "remember" when I realize I haven't been getting mail or some contacts me and tells me.

There's something kinda counter-intuitive about emailing a warning about mailbox size to a mailbox that is almost full... That would seem to exacerbate the problem. [Tempted to insert a 'Shaun of the Dead' reference there, but I'll restrain myself].

The current limit of 250 Mb is fine for the great bulk of our customers, especially bearing in mind we're really not a high volume email service like Gmail or Hotmail, but a web hosting provider. If you need more room than that, I'd recommend Exchange, since that offers more room, or redirecting your mail to somewhere like Gmail, which can be accessed from anywhere.

Is it possible to re-allocate memory to different mailboxes. This feature used to available several years ago, I just can't find it in ops. I need more memory in one of my mailboxes. Is that possible, if so how?

Not possible anymore. You're stuck with the limit - or may get more by buying the exchange option as suggested, or the alternative of forwarding mail to gmail or other such free services. You could still 'send' from your domain name, and still read it within Outlook or Thunderbird (or whatever). The only downside I see is that it needs configuring first.
