forward to gmail to keep business domain "address"?

My tech dude is STRONGLY suggesting my biz go to gmail for cloud-based (centralized and mobile-savvy) email services. *I* don't want a "Me@gmail.com" address for myself or anyone in my business.

So ... it looks like we could forward from powweb boxes to gmail, and then tell gmail to use smtp from powweb somehow? Not sure of the details to put it mildly.

You can setup your forwards in OPS, here - Mail Central. Gmail can be setup to use your domain in the 'sent from' address. I don't remember exactly how I did it, but the help file there was explanatory enough.

Thanks, Bruce ... I've never done anything with "gmail" ... but if their help content is decent, that's good ...

I just did a quick Google search on this and found this article:
    http://smarterware.org/3628/host-you...out-forwarding

This is an older article (2009), but I think the functionality still exists. Your Tech guy should be able to do the configuration for you.

You don't even need to forward messages to Gmail. You can set up your Gmail account to connect to and download mail from PowWeb's mail servers. Configure this in the Settings > Accounts and Import section of Gmail. Set up "Check mail from other accounts (using POP3):" to download mail, and also "Send mail as" for sending. As I recall, you can configure it to send either through Gmail's mail servers, or using PowWeb's.
