Forward email from a user to a gmail account

    Hi,
I need to forward emails from a user or a group of users to my gmail account. My current email is hosted on powweb. Any ideas?

If you wish to forward to a small group you can set up an e-mail account that does this easily in OPS. I do this for a group of 6 people.

Forwarding from a user to an external account would require logging into OPS and setting up the forward for each user.

Log into OPS, goto Mail Central and Edit each account forwarding/delivery destination.

    Thanks Ian,
let me rephrase my earlier message. i have an email address abc@xyz.com. i want to create a rule such that emails received into abc@xyz.com from ian@123.com are forwarded to efg@gmail.com.

In mail central, I can forward all emails into a mailbox to an external address. Or did I miss an option?

Yes, you can. Do you need some assistance with that? Try the PowWeb Knowledgebase - How To: Email Basics

edit: to forward only emails from a specific address, you will need to setup a forwarding rule in your email client.

Gmail also has an option to actually download your mail as a POP client. It will work like any other POP client in that it downloads a copy of your mail to your Gmail account as if you were logging into the server. You can then set it up to reply to the client as though you are logged into our server as well. This is a great feature if you have a Google phone and that mailbox is attached as you then get your Gmail messages and PowWeb messages while mobile.
To do this please do the following:
    Login to your Gmail Account.
Choose Settings, from the Settings cog.
    Click Accounts and Import.
Click 'Add a POP3 mail account you own".
    Enter your Email address.
    Click the Next button.
Enter your full email address as the Username.
Enter Password for your email account.
Enter the POP Server. This will be your domain name proceed by "mail." (Ex: mail.yourdomain.com)
Choose any additional options you may want. (When pulling from a different person's account it is wise to leave a copy on the server so they can check their mail too.)
    Click the Add Account button.
It should then give an option to go through to send mail from Gmail as well and prompt you for the same type of information.

I've added these instructions as a sticky thread so they don't get lost over time.

Nothing is working for gmail forwarding...

    This is weird.

I tried to forward to a gmail account via Powweb's mail central area...That didn't work.

So, I came here and saw that you could do the forwarding from Google's side. Tried that.
    And that doesn't work either.

    Any idea what's going on?

Help others help you. Didn't/doesn't work is not enough information for anyone to try and assist you. Error messages or a more descriptive narrative would be better.
