Index / I was expecting my index page

    He everyone,

This is my first post and I hope I can describe my problem so you understand. A few years back I might have been able to figure it out.

When I try to open my web site the "Index /" of all the pages comes up.

I wanted my first or index page of the web to come up. How do I get rid of the Index of all the pages?

I hope someone can help and I will be very grateful, I can't think of anything else to do.

You should put your files as sub-directory(ies) of htdocs

In addition to what IanS stated about the 'htdocs' subdir,

you need an index file. This file will have the filename 'index', with the extension of 'html' or 'htm'. There is a knowledgebase article that describes this more fully.

You or a script has modified the .htaccess file. Delete it or change it back to what it was (if your site was working before..).
