domain extensions

Hello, I wish to create a new domain and was looking at the extension .me. Will PowWeb support .me and will Google search for it? The web site domain.me said it is popular.

Powweb support would be the best to answer the questions about whether the .me extension will work on their servers. I see no reason it shouldn't. With the introduction of new extensions by ICANN what is there should make no difference as the server should be able to support any top level extension. I don't know about Google. If you specifically look for it you will see it in Google.

The .me extension is for Montenegro (formerly part of Yugoslavia) and was publicly available from 2008 - so is now 4yrs old.

.ME can be geo-targeted and is definitely searchable by Google, plus people tend to remember the extension easily. Actually, Google itself acquired a .ME for RO.ME project.

The .me extension was assigned to Montenegro as a country code after it became an independent nation in June 2006. However, the Montenegro government decided .ME would be operated as a generic name after considering the potential worldwide appeal for the extension.
