Data Recovery
Any way to get data back on a win98 machine when the FAT was overwritten? A scandisk was performed right after the fact.. and allowed to autofix (AHHHHHH!).. certain files that should be 20 or so mg's.. are reporting as 4kb.. others report full size.. but are not complete.
Tried: Norton utilities (didn't scan or defrag w/it though) and some data recovery software.. both were a no go... heeellllpppppp.... TIA, -L

OUTCH, I'd say, from what you've said above, there's not much in the way of off the shelf tools that will help you. When you run a scandisk, it usually backs up the FAT, and overwrites any old backups. There are always two copies of the FAT, which allows for data recovery, but in this case, you'd have to pay a DR firm.
