Talking Whew, just took a glance at your site

and boy am I tired. Very large. I like your use of "SoThinkDHTML" menuing. You might make the top nav text and the mouseover text the same size. That will eliminate the jump you now get going from a small to larger text on mouseover. Next, I suggest you try floating the menu as you do in your chat (floats up to multi-purpose tools then stops). Float is a "SoThink" option. And though I could offer much more pro and con I'll just conclude saying a nice mix of PHP and HTML. You have really put a lot of good work into your site (kill the alt=messages, unless it serves as an aid to the handicapped).

And, somehow misposted this...

Money..???? Well this Site has been officially up, since April 2003.

So fairly new around the block, as the experienced Web Store Owner might gone tell me-us, that it will take at least 1-3 months even sometimes longer to be in the top 100 in those Search Engines.

Nerveless, I have sold already quite a lot of High Quality Pocket Knives, without even being listed in any Search Engines....??? go figure that, jet I have optimized my Site as much as I could find about Keywords, gateways, tweaks etc..... I suppose gone start Overture now, ooohh yeahhh I have submitted my Site yesterday night to all free Sites around ~1700 that I never heard of before...??

Just let me know what else is funky about my Hobby Site of my......

Just a couple things:

1. First off, you've put a lot of work into it and it shows. The color scheme is nice and the front page loaded pretty fast.
2. When you render the DHTML "online store" menu, it renders with a diamond which isn't consistent with the other drop downs or vice versa. My mind and eyes like consistency.
3. The knife forum has two scroll bars. Don't know if you configured that way, but would be much simpler to use with only one.

Other than that, I like it. One question for you though: Are you happy with the eCommerce shopping solution? Was it relatively easy to implement and have you seen any issues coming up against the mysql unique session limits?

Money!

Well it looks like a really good site to me. Everything thing seems to be evenly placed and a good looking product! Google only takes a couple of weeks to get placed and I am sure it won't be long until see those orders just coming in!

Keep up the good work!

Heyyy, I really get some great responses here.... thks to all of you. Still I need more... hahahaaa

I suppose a lot of you like the "DHTM" from Sothink.com, I must tell you..there support & help is great, they have my endorsement as you can see!!

a) clean up more the "DHTM" Menu bar, to a consistent clean look.
b) working on the "alt" tag, jet I need this placement for my keywords....
c) Knife Forum page, will work on it over the weekend (what about my family)
d) eCommerce templates
1.there support, especially through there new Online Forum is awesome... get the best, and leave the rest....
2. Setup and implementation of there templates into an existing correctly setup MySQL was a snap. You have to run only there setup php page... that's it!!! How easy is that?? Of course if you don't now how to upload and talk to your host, you might be in for some home work lessons..... There integrated Admin Console is great for adding and modifying your Products, like with all templates there are limitation, jet it is an excellent professional Start for every Web Store and what an Time Saver it is....
3.Hmmmmm haven't heard about a "MySQL Unique Session Limit"... could you enlighten us... a bit more. Should we be more concern about this Issue when I'm as big as eBay??... hahaa

Keep it up....

Your prices seem pretty good. Usually when I see knife websites, I can pick up the same exact knife for 40-60 dollars cheaper (for a 200 dollar knife). However, the Boker Top Lock (my favorite Boker Solingen by the way ) is a pretty good price. I just wish you had a Boker Solingen with blue or red bone inserts instead of just kraton. The site looks great. Even beats out Microtechs website by like 1,000x. Lol...

Would love to talk to you more about knives. I'll be emailing you

Site looks really good, and well thought/laid out.

Can't add much to what has already been said, but did notice one thing on your front page

Be Safe then Sorry.. Are you wanting people to "Be Safe, and then be sorry for it" or did you actually mean "Be Safe, Not Sorry" - or maybe "Better Safe Than Sorry" ??

Your site causes a fatal error when you try to validate it. This may cause the search engines some grief. Include:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> on the first line of your code and verify your character set designation.

Your "alt" tags are very Spammy. They should be used to describe the picture not duplicate your keywords.

Using more keywords on your title and description dilutes the effectivness of the keywords you really want to focus on. Design each page for 2-3 KW and design other pages for the rest of your KW.

http://www.just-pocket-knives.com/html/kershaw.htm has the same text repeated six times.

Links to tools and knives takes you to the same place. This would be a good place to create more pages to spread around some keywords.

Being able to get from one brand to the next with out going thru the home page would be nice.

Overall I would say it is a pretty nice site and nobody would find faults unless they were looking for them.

..thks...again, great tips!!

1) Addedd the HTML Coding to all Pages "<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">"
somehow Dreamweaver is not doing it...even the Code clean up is realy &$$#%

2) Revised the "Alt" Tag, no more spaming, specif nature

3) Kershaw Home Page a bit revised

4) Keyword density on a per page base ... is ungoing

5) Hmmmm, Menu request when you're at a Brand Home Page like "http://www.just-pocket-knives.com/html/spyderco.htm"...??
I see your point, we had a LONG descusion about the layout of yeach Brand-Manufacture Page. The point that I'm trying to make is; I want that the customer is focused on that Brand at that time.... this is actualy the reason of the white Space layout.... with only a Top & Button Menu Bar and all the Specific Models in the Middle.....

I need some Ideas to make it more customer friendly.... thks

Really nice site! You have put a ton of work into it. It really shows! I like the navigation. I took a look at your Benchmade section. I have the 9100SBT and love it! They make a mean knife! If you don't mind... what program did you use to create your site? I want to try my hand at a business site one day and I don't have a clue where to start. Thanks, Hatch

All of you.. again thanks....

a) added Brand Models under the DHTML Menu
b) added an additional Activity Category, I have to re-index my ~1600 Pocket Knives & Tools for these categories like Fishing, Hinting, Camping etc...
c) Forum has to be reworked, is currently down
d) added the navigation menu to all Manufacture Pages, for easer navigation

Well, I use Dreamweaver MX with Fireworks, you're right the 910SBT is a sharp knife. I realy like the ones from Emerson, with the brutal fast and secure auto opening called "Wave". It is so fast... that you can not even see the blade eject! Excelent on handed pocket knife...

Any questions about how, what, where and especialy who would purchase and why they should.... let me know, I might be able to give you some pointers.
