Talking Hey Mac - what daya say

I pedal a CDRom photo album on the most frequented tourist attraction in the State of Oregon. I promote it as being compatible with all Windows operating systems that support Window's Explorer. It was developed using Windows Explorer but is compatible with most internet browsers, including NetScapes.

Might this album also be compatible with Apple Macs. The album currently has autorun, for HTML, but need not, given the only file in the root is Start. The album's back jacket currently features autorun but at one time it directed the use to just click MyComputer, click your CDRom, click Start. If it is Mac compatible, it might say for Mac users click x, click your CDRom, click Start.

Any insight of help is appreciated

Hi

I'm a Mac boy, and here's the deal as I understand it.

If your CD is based purely around html and operates in just an Internet Browser, then it's already ready to go on a Mac (as you suspected).

When Mac users insert this disc into their machines, it'll appear up the desktop, so there's no need for start menu directions. Simply ask them to open the name of the disc, and then direct them to the index.html document (or whatever is the first page you'd like them to see - start.html??). There may be an issue with file name lengths, as Macs only really like 31 characters in a file name. If the names are shorter than this you're fine.

Ideally you should just try it out in a Mac. The files won't look as pretty because of the fact that it's a PC disc, but the only other option is to burn a versions that has a Mac partition on it as well. If you really want I can tell you more about this too.

Best of luck

bfc

Talking Mac boy - I like that term

Yes, the start of the album is Start.html. One must watch their Window's Starts. Thanks for your information. It is as I suspected and the more you can tell me the better.

I know I must do my own research but having a hopeful beginning is what I am looking for.

Visited your site. Your wide angle photos are very impressive and your selection is huge.

Thanks for your help anything you have to add is most welcome.

No problem muijefr, and I'm glad you liked the site.

You're pretty much well set up as you are, and the only way of improving on your current disc would be to use pure dual format mac/pc cd-roms. These, however, are harder to make if you're coming from a PC side, but pretty easy from a mac.

Good luck!!!
