That sounds cool. I'm always interested in software alternatives. How do you go about getting the SWISH?
Thanx! ![]()

Here's some stuff I did in Swish. It's actually very versatile and only limited by your imagination!
www.templatedepot.com/intros/index.htm www.templatedepot.com/intros/intro2.htm www.templatedepot.com/intros/intro3.htm www.templatedepot.com/intros/intro4.htm www.templatedepot.com/intros/intro5.htm www.templatedepot.com/intros/intro6.htm Each of these took about 30-45 minutes to create with Swish. 'hey Sim...you need a preloader for them'....
picky picky picky... hehe Yeah, they need a preloader but typically i'd do that when someone buys it since I have to customize 'em anyway. Sophie, what was your download time before the movie started and what kind of connection do you have? I'm using cable so it just zaps right up there. |

another ?
where do you get the music from?
also you have to admit that you are good at this and that they will not just download this and start doing it and get the same results. I have this program and I cant do the stuff you do in 30 to 45 min. for the newbie to this coffee cup software is more down to earth and cheaper. but not all the bells and whistles here is one i did with it www.oklastamped.com and another http://ironhorse.topcities.com/ watch out for the popup window it will block your view Last edited by biker : 2-28-02 at 09:04 AM. |

I was very impressed by how easy this Swish is. I've always hated Flash, but now I may thinking about purchasing this Swish. Here is my short and very simple 5-minute go at it: www.petraint.com
Nice examples SimCoWeb!! ![]() |

Thanks alpha
this is what I have been looking for all over the net and all I could find are ones that took like 3 min to load. got some tips on how to make an animation that walks on makes some kind of pose then walks off or do I need to make an image of each frame and if I do that how do I get it to run. my test one I made only shows the first image. do I make them as individual scene's? |

walking man or lady
I think I have seen an animated gif on bikerally or a link on biker alley like you are talking about. You can insert that animated gif in your scene and with the action tab tell it to stop and then fade out all in one scene.

wav or mp3
I have downloaded both wav and mp3 from FlashKit. I have not been able to get the mp3 format to play in Swish. I have had good results with the wav format.
When I try to insert a mp3 I get error message. error reading file: filemane.mp3, unknow error I have tried several so I assuming that Swish can't read the mp3. In the help section it says you can import mp3, but it has to have a certain type of compression.

Hmmm..that's odd. Perhaps the file was corrupted in some way. My girlfriend just built one yesterday that had an MP3 in it and there was no problem except it was HUGE! So we downloaded an audio editing program and trimmed out the part we wanted. The total SWF file was still 880kb!
Take a peek: www.simcoweb.com/terribd.htm My girlfriend is real novice at this. But this is what she was able to put together on her own! The confetti are all individual pieces with their own separate repeating effects. The birthday cake was an animated GIF that we imported as a Sprite. Even though there's not a ton of sophistication in this movie, it's got a ton of features she programmed into it with just a little imagination. |

well I was playing with it and it took me a bit of time trying to get the preloader to work then I realized that I had imported a flash file from another program and it imported as a sprite so I redid the flash in Swish and I did have to use a wav file after all.
this is my first try so this is what I came up with. www.oklastamped.com be kind this is my first try and have no ideal what I'm doing But hay I'm doing it! Let me know how it loads!! Last edited by biker : 3-1-02 at 01:27 AM. |

midis or wavs
A lot of folks use .wav loops.... of midi loops converted into wav loops..... to keep the file size down in swish & Flash..... both will convert to mp3.... compression... once they are imported....
Flash will stream the sound.... Swish is limited... so looping seems to be critical in presentation.... "for speed sake".... You can find tons of wav loops... just finding the right one... thats royaly free can be a pain..... Some really good examples of flash are : http://xdude.com http://rayoflight.net http://http://www.davidgarystudios.com/ some really great stuff out there.... wish I had time.... |

I stumbled onto this posting a bit late, but I have to ask this question.
Biker, in your message with the link www.oklastamped.com, where did you get the music for that one. I really like it and would like to get a copy of it to incorporate once I get up and going with Swish. Thanks |
