Photography & Family News - Critique Appreciated

I just moved to Powweb 2 months ago. Our site started as a family website and then last year, I was bitten by the photography bug - so now it's a combination of the two. The site was built and maintained using Greymatter. Comments and critiques would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

ooooo tastefully done...I really like it....and very good photos as well...perhaps you need to compress the pics a bit...I noticed some of them were 45/50k each...not good on a dial up connection..and perhaps get rid of the obvious site meter? Other than that...it looks real good. And I like your comment about the browser war

VERY Well done

As far as the photo file size, I am on dialup and had no problems with the load time of any of your photos. I think if you compressed them anymore, that you would lose the quality that you now have.

You've done a great job, hope that you are appreciated for how nice the site has turned out.

Thank you Limesroad and JJ for your honest feedback - it is truly appreciated. I keep thinking that I'd like to change the layout but in the end, I'm really satisfied with it.

Limesroad - just out of curiosity, why would I want to get rid of the site meter? Again, just asking out of curiosity...

Site meter? It's just me being a fussy git really....I'm not too keen on all the freebie site meters that you can get...although I acknowledge that they are good for people without a cgi-bin etc etc...they just dont look too professional and they remind me of my old geocities/tripod sites
You have a funky looking site and the meter for me just doesnt go. Like I said..."a fussy git"
I can highly recommend this one okay...its free but you can customise it and there are no visible graphics on your pages

message to self...I must get a life.......

Like Limesroad, I don't care for the SiteMeter's and BraveNet off site counters and stat displays on sites. Especially a site as clean and nice looking as yours.

Since you are with PowWeb, you have Webstats available to you as well as full use of your CGI bin.

So if you want a counter for your pages and access to stats, why not just use what is offered? There are 100's of free CGI/Perl/PHP scripts available for counters.

Once again, I appreciate the feedback. I've tried using the Powweb webstats once before but all of the info was from someone else's site so I turned it off. Guess I'll have to look into that problem... Thanks again.

That webstat problem has been fixed and no longer is a problem

Just turn them on and wait 24 hours and they should be correct for your site
