Arrow Website Review

Greetings everyone,

I have recently done some major changes on my website, including the introduction of CSS's and I would to hear people's opinion on the results!

The website is www.Firewall.cx and is an small to medium sized site with more than 220 pages and 24,000 visitors monthly who read around 180,000 pages.

All feedback on the site is welcomed.

Cheers,

I can't believe you dared to use those colours, but you did and it works.

The only colour I don't like is the bright green text. The text for the virus alerts is much better.

The menu is excellent, a great bit of scripting. I think they need a background though. I'd use the dark green one from the forum and possibly the yellow border too (you'd need to change the text colour then though).

Good sound code. The only slight flaw I found is that the links submenu goes off the screen @1280 x 1024.

With all that spare processing power in your home network, I hope you're running folding@home http://folding.stanford.edu

In fact, I've just had an idea. HEY, POWWEB do you want to start a folding team?

D'you think they heard me?

Hey it looks nice! I like the graphic at the top right. Very nice. On the alternate menu page, the text animation is neat, but your drop down menus get stuck under it........? I suppose that's ok since the links are repeated just beneath the drop down ones, but if they aren't meant to work properly, why not just disable the drop down effect altogether. I agree about the colors. It looks nice, but the brightest yellow distracts the eye from the text. White text on black background is harder on the eye anyway without a screaming box around it to compete for attention.

how about some alt tags too?

Great design. Good job : )

Thumbs up Good Stuff

Very nice. I don't mind the green. I get a horizontal scoll bar in 800 res ? Some very lean and tidy php scripting there. Some of the drop downs don't line up the best. Cool server rack let's see some more of that.

Very fast loading
Simple attractive nav
Good content
Excellent work

Is in my Favorites

Tested in Mozilla 1.2.1 800x600. Looks good in Mozilla and all the menu's work. I hope you've got permission from Paramount to use the ST graphics. I'm not sure about all the funny coloured text - call me old fashioned but for a serious site it should be toned down a bit. Otherwise, a nice design. Always nice to see a forum. Good luck with it.

Nick
