A few ways
There are a few ways to deal with a "halo" of fringe pixels around an image. If you were a little more specific about what you did to create the image, I might be able to be more specific about what you can do to prevent it or fix it.
Creating a logo or lettering as a layer on a transparent background will reduce the fringe pixels to almost nothing. Use of masks in photoshop to properly select an image and lift it off of another background will also reduce the amount of fringe pixels. Last, you can always enlarge the pic and hand color the last few wayward pixels. Oh, and when you are done creating your image and go to use the "Save to Web" command, make sure you have the dithering set to zero. Hope this helps. If not, come on back and I will help if I can. Thanks Ddr I will give that a try. After reading your reply I think it is the way I am doing the copy and paste command. I will let you know.
![]() Edit. I was able to modify the selection and contracted by one pixel and problem gone. thanks again. Your post sent me in the right direction. ![]() Last edited by rwfracing : 3-2-02 at 08:11 PM. |

In Imageready, make sure the Matte is set to None. Sometimes it's automatically set to white and this creates a ring around the image. Check out how it looks in the optimize window though, because taking this off can make text look pixellated in some scenarios.

This is slightly off the point, but I feel compelled to add it.
I used to use imagready, but I hate the way it takes ages to jump from Photoshop to Imageready. At the moment, I only use Photoshop 6's "save for web" feature combined with their slice tool to create exactly the same results as imageready would. This saves me a load of time (no more jumping) and the results are exactly the same (slices can be diferent formats, a html page is produced just as with IR, and the slice settings are saved woth the PSD file). Anyway, if you haven't tried it out, try it out. And if you don't have photoshop 6, well, do try and get it. If you're stuck, mail me and I might be able to give you a list of shops that sell it.... ![]() Furthermore, if you can get GoLove 5 or 6, you can embed a photoshop 6 page (sliced and configured) in your html page, and then every time you update the photoshop doc it AUTOMATICALLY UPDATES the html in Golive. No re-exporting AT ALL!!!!! Fun Fun Fun... bfc
