Installing "patch" contributions
I want to install the "Quantity Price Break" contribution - it is supplied as a .diff file to be applied by the patch utility. Ok. I download and install Cygwin and locate which package has patch (since it's not a default, apparently.)
I go to apply the patch, following the readme instructions, but it becomes clear that the patch is written for a different (apparently a newer daily build) release of osc than the stable one PowWeb installed (and which I re-fetched from the osc web site). I went looking in the osc community forum, found that several people had asked the identical question over the past few months, but nobody had answered it. Really helpful... I started to apply the diffs manually, but it's a big task and I don't fully understand the .diff file to be sure I'm doing it right. Perhaps folks here will be more enlightened? Thanks for any tips you can offer.
