E-Mail Problems

Hello there, I have set up my oscommerce site, and it works great, except one thing! When new customers sign up or I send e-mail from the administration control panel, it does not send the e-mail to the address. I have checked the oscommerce sit and saw that this was becoming a problem and I looked for a solution but nothing was specific to powweb, so I am trying here! My send e-mail is set to True and I am using SMTP. Can anybody help me? Thanks for the help, in advance! Please, I am dying here. Oh yea one more thing I am a bit of a novice so easy instructions help. Thanks!

SMTP requires authentication, so if that is an option make sure it is enabled.
